WHEN BOOKING

You may book our programs via our website. For group bookings (above 8 people), please contact us via email or phone at (65) 6733 2282.

The booking deadline is 2 days (5pm GMT +8) before programme date.

For group bookings above 8 people, please contact us at least 1 week before programme date via email or phone at (65) 6733 2282.

Changes to program date is subject to availability. Please contact us via email or phone at (65) 6733 2282 to check with us. In the event that we are unable to accede to your request for change of date, please refer to our cancellation policy.
Unfortunately we do not accept walk-in bookings at Pulau Ubin at the moment. Bookings have to be done online via our website, 2 days before program date. Should you face any issues while making an online booking, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Visa, Mastercard and AMEX cards are accepted for bookings made via our website. For group bookings, we accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, cheque, and fund transfer.
Full payment must be made before the program.
You may book our programs as a single participant. However, our programs run on a minimum count of 2 persons. In the unlikely event where the minimum participant count is not met, we will work with you for change of program date, program, or a refund. You will be contacted via email or phone at (65) 6733 2282 in such case.
Group discounts are available for 10 people and above. Please contact us at (65) 6733 2282 or email us for more details.

Yes, our programs can be made private at a surcharge. Please contact us via email to make a request.

PREPARING FOR THE PROGRAM

For kayaking:

  1. Sun hat / cap
  2. T-shirt / Tank Top / Rash Guard
  3. Shorts / Leggings / Bermudas / Surf Shorts / Sports Pants
  4. Swimwear (underneath)
  5. Covered footwear**

For biking:

  1. Sun hat / cap
  2. T-shirt / Tank Top
  3. Shorts / Leggings / Bermudas / Shorts / Sports Pants
  4. Covered footwear**
** Please note that covered footwear is mandatory for safety purposes. Participants are not allowed to join the program barefoot, in slippers, or open-toe sandals. For those kayaking, your shoes will get wet during launch-off of the kayaks.
    1. A change of fresh clothes
    2. A change of shoes
    3. Personal toiletries
    4. Personal medication
    5. A bottle of water – we recommend bringing a 1-litre water bottle
    6. Keepers for eyewear; if you wear contact lenses, please bring along a pair of your spectacles as well
    7. Sunscreen

*If you are participating in our Ubin Bisect Kayaking Adventure, you may wish to bring a packed lunch. There will be a short break during the program to allow for resting.

GETTING HERE

We are located at 34 Pulau Ubin, a short 1 minute walk from the jetty. Upon arriving at Pulau Ubin via the ferry, cross the boardwalk and take a left. Walk on until you see us (house painted white) on your right.

Step 1: Arrive at Changi Point Ferry Terminal

  • By car Route to “51 Lor Bekukong, 499172”. Parking is available at the open air carpark nearby, or at Changi Village Hotel. Lots are limited and subject to availability.
  • By taxi Inform driver that you would like to get to “Changi Point Ferry Terminal”, or “Changi Village”.
  • By public transport Nearest MRT station is “Pasir Ris”. Nearest bus station is “Changi Village Bus Terminal” with bus numbers “2, 29, 59, 109”.
  • Duration approximately 30 mins by car / taxi; approximately 60 mins by public transport (travelling from Central Singapore)

Step 2: Take ferry to Pulau Ubin

  • Join the queue by telling the boatman that you would like to go to Pulau Ubin. The ferry leaves when there are 12 people. Pay cash (SGD $3 per person) directly to the boatman.
  • Duration approximately 10 – 15 mins (excludes waiting time for ferry)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Participants do not need to know how to swim for our kayaking programs with the exception of the kayaking certification programs.

Basic cycling ability is required for bike programs.

Yes, children are allowed but they must be 7 years old and above in order to join our programs.
Our programs are not physically challenging and are manageable. However, if you have sustained an injury or have gone for an operation recently, we recommend that you seek professional advice from a doctor before joining our programs.

We are using double open deck (sit on top) kayaks for all our kayaking programs except for the kayaking certification programs. Should you wish to use to use a single closed deck kayak, kindly get in touch with us prior to the program. Please note that a valid 1-star kayaking certificate is required for use of single closed-deck kayaks.

CANCELLATION, LATE-COMING & NO-SHOW

When you book a program and pay for it on our website, under a discounted rate, it is normally fully prepaid, non-cancellable, non-changeable, and non-refundable reservation. This type of booking will result in penalties, if cancelled, the entire program paid, including taxes.

If you book a reservation and pay for it on a third-party website, they will have their own cancellation policy, and must be cancelled through them.

To cancel a program, kindly get in touch with us via email or phone at (65) 6733 2282. Penalty charges will apply for late cancellation.

If you know that you are running late for our program, please contact us to inform us if possible. There is a 15 minute grace period from stipulated program start times. Late-comers will not be able to join the program once it has commenced.
In such a scenario, we advise that you get in touch with us immediately. We will assist to make arrangements for a postponement or participant replacement, subject to availability. If neither is not possible, penalty charge for no show is 100 percent of the program fees.

WEATHER CONSIDERATIONS

Our programs are designed to operate in both dry and wet weather. In the event of bad weather, we will work with our participants for postponement.

Bad weather is defined as 1) poor visibility (reduced to less than 1 km; cannot see Singapore from Pulau Ubin), 2) lightning is local (our mobile lightning detectors indicate 0 – 5 miles), 3) wind is too strong (Beaufort 5; 16-20 knots; Fresh Breeze; Many whitecaps, small amounts of spray).

However, the likelihood of bad weather is low, and occasions where programs did not proceed were few and far in between. Our guides will make the decision for postponement when bad weather persists for more than 1 hour from scheduled start time of program. Participants not present will be treated as no show, and penalty charge is 100 percent of the program fees.

Safety in any program is paramount to Asian Detours and we ensure adherence to our best practices in all our programs.

We have set in place a HAZE MANAGEMENT PLAN to ensure the well being of all participants in our Pulau Ubin programs during a haze situation. We are ready to respond and take appropriate haze management measures based on the Ministry of Health’s Health Advisory corresponding to air quality (www.haze.gov.sg)
